The Senegalese Football Federation has officially lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport challenging the controversial decision that awarded the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title to Morocco
The appeal, filed on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, requests that the ruling by the Confederation of African Football be overturned and Senegal reinstated as the rightful champions.
In its submission, the FSF urged CAS “to set aside the CAF decision and declare the FSF winners of AFCON,” intensifying one of the most debated disputes in recent African football history.
The appeal follows CAF’s earlier move to strip Senegal of the title and hand it to Morocco, a decision that drew widespread criticism and calls for greater transparency within the football community.
CAS will review arguments from both sides before issuing a final, binding ruling. The verdict could have significant implications for governance and credibility in African football competitions.
