Oprah Winfrey discussed her REAL name after using the ‘wrong’ one for decades.
The legendary talk show host, 72, hosted her long-running eponymous series from 1986 to 2011.
However, Oprah found herself on the other side of an interview as she made this revelation.
She joined actress Keke Palmer on the latter’s video podcast titled Baby, It’s Keke Palmer.
During their conversation, Keke, 32, told Oprah how she’d learned that the TV legend’s real name was, in fact, Orpah.
Oprah confirmed this was true and that the name ‘Orpah’ originated from the Bible.
Keke asked: “What made you go to Oprah?”
To which Oprah responded: “It wasn’t what made me, I was a kid.
“Nobody knew how to spell it. So it turned out on my birth certificate, it’s Orpah but then people started calling me Oprah.
“It’s just the difference of the ‘p’ being before the ‘r’ or after the ‘r’.
“Once they started with Oprah, that’s it.”
Oprah concluded by saying she’d been unaware of this name confusion until she was 20 years old – and seeing her birth certificate.
