Nollywood actor Jigan Babaoja is making bold claims about the rise of entertainment boxing in Nigeria and he’s not holding back.
Following the buzz around Portable’s recent loss to Carter Efe, Jigan stepped in to set the record straight, saying he was actually the one who introduced the idea of entertainment boxing in the first place.
According to him, things could have played out very differently if not for his physical condition. Jigan explained that his disability limited his ability to fully take advantage of the trend he believes he created.
Still, he didn’t shy away from boasting about what might have been.
“I promoted the entertainment boxing, but my disability prevented me from using it to make money. Mummy David, koni dafun yin on this side! Cos if I were to have two complete legs with my boxing experience! I go kpai Portable, and Carter Efe join.”
Doubling down on his claim, Jigan insisted he deserves recognition as the pioneer of the movement.
“I am the originator of entertainment boxing in Nigeria; know this and know peace. Story for another day”.
His comments have sparked conversation online, especially as celebrity boxing continues to gain attention in the Nigerian entertainment space.
