Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has made public his plans to build schools in every country in Africa from his share of the proceeds from the Starboy X Nike jersey deal.
The African popstar made this announcement on Saturday, 8th of September via Twitter in series of tweets. Using the hashtag #EducationForEveryChild, Wizkid announced that his proceeds from the partnership with Nike will be used to build a school in every country in Africa, calling on fans to assist him in selecting a starting point but later announced he’ll be “starting heavy” in Northern Nigeria.
He said;
“Using my own profits from this business partnership with Nike to build a school back home in Lagos. #Educationforeverychild.
“I’ll need help from fans to pick where we start this. Trying to build a school in every country in Africa. That’s my dream. Surulere, Lagos, Ghana and Benin Republic,”
The Wizkid and Nike collaborative jersey was also announced by the singer to hit the market on Monday, 10th of September and will be sold for $84 or £64.95 or N30,000.
