The 2019 Critics Choice Awards held last night and aired The CW. It was hosted by Taye Diggs. The show saw stars being handed for achievements in both film and television.
The foreign-language film “ROMA” had a big night at the show as the movie won “Best Picture” and “Best Director”. “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” and “Vice” were other big winners last night.
There was also an interesting twist at the event as there were two ties in two separate categories. Amy Adams and Patricia Arquette were co-winners in the “Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television” category. They shared the stage and took turns giving their thanks. Towards the end of the show, Lady Gaga and Glenn Close tied for “Best Actress” and both women gave powerful and rousing speeches.
