Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage Bag NAACP Image Awards Nomination!

The Nigerian trio of Tiwa Savage, Davido and Wizkid have all bagged at least a nomination in the 52nd NAACP Image Awards.

On the 2nd of February 2021, the official list of nominees for the 52nd NAACP Image Awards which included Tiwa Savage, Davido and Wizkid was released via a tweet from NAACP’s official Twitter handle. The tweet read;

“The nominees are set! It’s time make your choices known. Vote here for the 52nd #NAACPImageAwards”

Nigerian songstress and diva, Tiwa Savage bagged two nominations. She was nominated twice in the ’Oustanding International Song’ category for her single off her ‘Celia’ album titled ‘Temptation’ which featured global pop star Sam Smith and also for part in the Davido owned ‘Tanana’. Nigerian megastar, Davido was also bagged a nomination for his single titled ‘Tanana’ which featured Tiwa Savage off his ‘A Better Time’ album. Also, Nigerian music megastar, Wizkid bagged a nomination for his part in the Beyonce owned ‘Brown Skin Girl’. The song was nominated in the ’Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album‘ category. The award will be aired on the 28th of March, 2021 by 1am (West African Time).

The NAACP Image Awards is an annual awards ceremony presented by the U.S.-based National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to honor outstanding performances in film, television, music, and literature. The first award ceremony took place on the 13th of August 1967. (Source: Wikipedia). The likes of Beyoncé, Drake, Alicia Keys, Big Sean, H.E.R and Jhené Aiko also bagged nominations alongside Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Davido.
