Blaqbonez has taken his long-running feud with fellow rapper Odumodublvck to court, filing a N2.55billion defamation lawsuit over alleged false accusations, harassment, thre.ats and reputational damage
The pair have been at loggerheads for years, but their latest clash escalated after Odumodublvck publicly accused Blaqbonez of se.xual assault on social media. Blaqbonez repeatedly denied the allegation before instructing his lawyers to commence legal action.
According to a legal memorandum issued by Blaqbonez’s lawyers, the claims against Odumodublvck include alleged malicious online publications, threa.ts to life, defamation, injurious falsehood, harassment, assault, battery and unlawful interference with the rapper’s professional and personal life.
The legal team argued that Odumodublvck’s repeated posts describing Blaqbonez as a “se.xual abuser” were false, malicious and defamatory, adding that the publications exposed their client to public ridicule and caused serious harm to his reputation, emotional wellbeing, brand value and business interests.
Among the reliefs sought, Blaqbonez is asking the court to order Odumodublvck to delete all allegedly defamatory posts, publish a public retraction and apology pinned on his verified social media accounts for 30 days, stop making similar allegations in the future and discourage his supporters from harassing him.
The suit also seeks N2 billion in general damages, an additional N500 million in aggravated damages and N50 million as the cost of the legal action.
