Ayra Starr has opened up about her admiration for Wizkid, praising him not only as a music icon but also as a source of inspiration.
At the Grammy museum event, she described him as a “living legend”, reflecting on how far both of them have come in their careers.
Recalling their first collaboration, Ayra admitted she was overwhelmed, saying she struggled to stay fully present in the moment.
“Wizkid is a legend. We all know that. Look how far we’ve come. He’s a legend. He’s a living legend.”
She contrasted that initial experience with their subsequent work together, noting how Wizkid’s calm and composed demeanor left a lasting impression on her.
“He was so cool, so calm, so relaxed. He made me understand that confidence is not noise. He’s very present and confident in his mission in life, and that taught me a lot.”
Ayra’s reflections highlighted the respect and inspiration she draws from Wizkid, showing how his approach to music and life has influenced her own mindset.
