Tyla has clinched the Best Afrobeats award at the 30th MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs).
Held at the Co-op Arena, the ceremony celebrated global music diversity, honoring outstanding artists and breakthrough acts.
Tyla edged out stiff competition from Rema, Tems, Asake, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy to claim the coveted award.
During her acceptance speech, she acknowledged the significant contributions of her fellow nominees to Afrobeats’ global growth.
“I’m honored to win this award, considering the incredible nominees who have taken Afrobeats so far,” Tyla said. “I want to thank my Maker, family, friends, and my amazing fans, the Tigers, for their unwavering support and votes.
