Taylor Swift broke her silence on her six Grammy Award nominations during Thursday night’s Eras Tour concert in Toronto, expressing heartfelt gratitude to her fans.
The 34-year-old singer earned the nominations for her 11th studio album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘ (TTPD), including Album of the Year, and her duet with rising star Gracie Abrams.
Swift’s recognition marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first female artist to receive seven Album of the Year nominations.
During her performance at the Rogers Centre in front of 50,000 fans, Swift described ‘TTPD‘ as an “emotional” album and thanked her audience for their unwavering support since its release in April.
“You guys did something so amazing over the course of the last few months. I just mean what you did with embracing ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ the album,” Swift began.
“It’s truly blown my mind because it’s really emotional for me that this album—I wrote it during the Eras Tour.”
She shared her disbelief about being up for six awards at the 2025 Grammys, tying Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan for the most nominations this year.
Swift also revealed the lengths she went to keep the album a secret while creating it during her tour.
“I wrote that album, made that album, all [while] trying to keep it a secret from you guys,” she explained.
“And then announced the album, and then we basically were, like, working really hard to secretly put together a new chapter in the Eras Tour of ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ and we wanted to surprise you with it, and we did.”
She credited her loyal fans, known as Swifties, for the album’s massive success.
“You made it by far, the biggest debut week I’ve ever had of an album. And you kept that album at number one for nearly four months,” she said.
“And the most recent thing that you did… is you guys got this album nominated for six Grammys. “It’s so unbelievable, so thank you,” she concluded, leaving her fans cheering with excitement.
