Sean Kingston, mother indicted for alleged $1 million fraud scheme

Popular American singer Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were formally accused in court last Friday in Miami.

They are charged with participating in a scheme that allegedly involved fraudulent wire transfers totaling over $1 million.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Florida, Kingston and Turner are accused of conspiracy to commit fraud and multiple counts of wire fraud.

The charges stem from their purported involvement in deceiving sellers into believing they had made payments for high-end vehicles, jewelry, and other luxury items through falsified transaction documents.

The allegations suggest that the defendants benefited financially by falsely claiming to have completed monetary transfers that were never executed.

Sean Kingston was previously arrested in May 2024 in California, where authorities also raided his South Florida residence and apprehended his mother on the same day.
