Ruth Kadiri reveals how she started her French YouTube channel

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has recounted the unexpected journey that led to the creation of her French-language YouTube channel, which now boasts more than a million subscribers.

According to Kadiri, the idea first came to her shortly after the birth of her daughter while she was living in London. Although the instruction seemed unusual because she could not speak French, she felt strongly about pursuing it.

Her first attempts, however, were unsuccessful. She searched for translators, encountered setbacks, and eventually abandoned the project after becoming discouraged.

Just when she had given up on the idea, an unexpected phone call changed everything. The right collaborator reached out to her, making it possible to finally bring the vision to life.

Reflecting on the experience, Kadiri said:

“After I had my daughter in London, I was walking down the stairs one day, and I felt God say, start a French YouTube channel. I did not speak French. It made no sense, but I knew that voice. It had guided me before.

I tried to obey. I looked for translators, but it did not work out. One person took my money and disappeared. I became tired and dropped the idea. I felt maybe I heard wrong this time.

Then, one day, a man called me and asked if I was interested in doing French. Just like that, the right person appeared. Today, that French channel has over a million subscribers. That is how God’s plans are different from our plans.”
