American rapper, Rick Ross has responded to criticism after a video of him flying on a commercial flight trended, insisting there was nothing unusual about the decision and explaining that his private jet was undergoing upgrades
Speaking in a recent interview, the rapper said he had no issue flying commercially while his aircraft was being fitted with Starlink internet, noting that the upgrade was worth a significant amount.
Ross also dismissed the jokes about him being spotted at the airport, saying he had simply returned from a trip to Colombia and was catching an early morning flight home.
He added that he was seated near the boarding gate because there was no lounge at the airport and insisted that people made too much of the situation.
He said:
“Of course it was. I just went and chilled.
“It ain’t the rap money to fill that. This the big jet. Yeah. One wing is $40,000 just to put gas in one wing.
“I had my jet in the spot getting upgraded with Starlink. Whatever was supposed to be funny, I missed it.
“We just went, partied all day, the 6 a.m. flight. We just went right back to the airport.
“Ain’t no lounge in Columbia. So, Rosé went in there. We sitting right in front of the gate. I flew first class, which it don’t matter, but I’m sitting outside the gate.
“I don’t went to sleep. So, whoever filmed me could have shot a rap video.”
