Rapper Rick Ross sends colleague Remy Ma a cease and desist for ‘Biggest Boss’ movie

Rick Ross has accused Remy Ma of going too far after a film project linked to her platform allegedly used his brand and music without permission.

The dispute centres on a planned movie titled “The Biggest Boss,” a name closely associated with Ross, who has long used the nickname throughout his music and public persona. According to a letter sent by Ross’s legal team and obtained by TMZ, the rapper claims the project features unauthorized use of both his music and trade name, and has demanded that the release be halted.

Ross also argued that the film risks misleading fans into believing he is involved, pointing to reactions and comments circulating on social media.

A representative for Remy Ma responded, saying, “Remy was personally unaware of the concerns raised regarding ‘The Biggest Boss’ and takes the matter seriously. She has maintained a personal and professional relationship with Rick Ross for more than 20 years and would never intentionally engage in any action that could harm his brand or cause offense.”

The film’s storyline reportedly follows a police officer who appropriates a drug dealer’s life story and transforms it into a rap career, a narrative some observers have noted bears similarities to Ross’s own past as a correctional officer before rising to fame in the music industry.

Speculation online has also linked the dispute to personal tensions, with some suggesting the project could be connected to Ross’s public support for boxer Claressa Shields, who is currently dating Remy Ma’s former husband.

Remy Ma’s representatives added that steps had already been taken to address the issue. “[Remy] has also reached out to [Ross] directly. Upon being made aware of the issue, the title was immediately removed from the platform. The Remy Network is now working closely with its partners to strengthen review processes and ensure that situations like this do not occur moving forward.”
