England-born Nigerian defender Emmanuel Airoboma has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool.
The Premier League champions announced the deal in a statement on their official website on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old, who has been part of Liverpool’s Academy since the U12 level, is primarily a centre-back but can also play as a right full-back.
Airoboma was a regular with the U18 squad last season and has now stepped up to join Rob Page’s U21 group. He made his Premier League 2 debut on August 25 as a substitute in a 3-2 away defeat to Burnley.
He was also included in the matchday squad for the EFL Trophy clash against Burton Albion’s senior team, though he remained an unused substitute.
Before his promotion, Airoboma featured in 22 U18 Premier League matches, showcasing consistency and potential that earned him his first professional deal.
