2Baba has publicly pushed back against his family over their involvement in his marriage, insisting their actions have spiraled out of control and placed his wife, Natasha Osawuru, in real danger
The music star’s reaction followed a formal petition his relatives reportedly submitted to the Inspector-General of Police, accusing Natasha of assault, bigamy and financial impropriety. In the document, they also alleged that she attacked him both in the UK and in Abuja, and seized his personal documents, including his passport.
In a video that has since spread widely online, 2Baba dismissed the allegations as false and claimed his family’s actions were doing more harm than good. “I’m a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with,” he said, stressing that he is mentally sound and active in his career. “I’m perfectly okay. I recently did my show in Abuja and people saw me.”
According to him, what began as concern has now turned into something dangerous. He revealed that Natasha is currently receiving threats to her life as a result of the controversy. “My family, who claim they want to save me, have actually destroyed me and damaged someone’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now,” he said.
He admitted there was a disagreement between himself and his wife but insisted it was nothing out of the ordinary for a couple. “Yes, we had a quarrel, which is normal between couples, but this is getting out of hand,” he explained.
A visibly distressed 2Baba accused his family of repeating a pattern he claims they displayed in his past relationships. “My family did this with Annie too. I’m a peaceful person, but this is getting to me too much,” he said.
Labeling the petition and the surrounding stories as manufactured, the singer described them as “fabricated lies and stories” and “nonsense.” He said the situation has left him deeply hurt and under immense emotional strain, adding that he plans to speak openly about many issues he has kept quiet about in the coming days.
He also made a direct appeal for the threats and harassment against Natasha to stop. “This tag of me being mentally unstable is ridiculous and equivalent to killing somebody. This has to stop,” he said. “I beg everyone to have some human conscience and stop the death threats and harassment.”
2Baba further urged his family to withdraw from his private affairs entirely. “Writing petitions and saying all sorts of nonsense is not fair. I want my family to stay out of my private and personal life. Just let me be.”
He ended with a plea for peace, saying the crisis has already caused too much damage. “Natasha has been hurt terribly. You are ruining my home. In the name of saving me, you are destroying another person’s life. Please, just let us be.”
