Pep Guardiola has led Manchester City to winning the Premier League title for a third consecutive season equaling the record that was set by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Cityzens were crowned Champions of the 2022/23 Premier League football season following Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 at the City ground. The only goal of the game was scored by Nigeria’s Taiwo Awoniyi in the 9th minute of the game.
This is Arsenal’s sixth defeat of the season but it is their second consecutive game without scoring a game. The Gunners needed a victory against the newly promoted team and hoped for Chelsea to defeat Machester City at the Etihad.
This will be a bit disappointing for most Arsenal fans are they were overwhelming favorites to win the league because of their form this season. The Gunners were group leaders for most of this campaign. However, things went south for the North London team when they dropped nine points in four games against ( Southampton, Liverpool, West Ham United, and Manchester City).
The Blues half of Manchester will hope they can still win a treble this season following their games in the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League against Manchester United and Inter Milan respectively. This feat has been achieved only by Manchester United during the 1998/99 season.
