Made Kuti reveals why he didn’t kneel to propose to his wife

Afrobeat singer Made Kuti has revealed why he chose not to kneel while asking his wife to marry him

Speaking during an interview on the Timeless Podcast on Nix Network’s YouTube channel, the 30-year-old explained that he sees marriage as an equal partnership rather than something one person has to plead for.

According to him, the decision to get married was one both he and his wife made together, which is why he did not feel the need to go on one knee.

“I did not go down on my knees when proposing to my wife because I told her it was a mutual decision. We are not begging each other to be with each other,” he said.

Made Kuti got married to his wife, Inedoye Onyenso, in 2023.
