Iyabo Ojo has appealed to her fans to embrace peace, stressing that neither she nor her daughter, Priscilla, were offended by an actress, and she has no bad feelings towards the actress or anyone
In a TikTok live video, the actress appealed to her fans to stop fueling unnecessary tension, making it clear that neither she nor Priscilla had been wronged in the situation people have been discussing.
According to her, she speaks up whenever she needs to express how she feels, because she doesn’t hold on to bitterness. Once she has said her mind, she lets it go and moves on.
She also spoke about the people in her life, saying her prayers have always been for those around her to succeed and prosper, whether they are her godchildren, friends or sisters. She said she has never wished evil on anyone.
Even when she creates distance after being hurt, Iyabo said it is usually temporary because she believes relationships can heal with time. The only exception is when she feels someone genuinely wants to harm her, saying those are the people she would never allow back into her circle.
Addressing another issue, the actress explained why she is uncomfortable with people calling her “Aunty” or kneeling to greet her. She said her mother named her Alice Iyabo and never included “Aunty” as part of her name.
She added that she was not raised in a Yoruba home, so the culture of kneeling or placing heavy emphasis on such forms of respect has never been something she personally embraced.
Sharing her thoughts in her own words, she said:
“Please, let’s embrace peace on social media,l am begging everyone. No one stole from me, No one stole from Priscilla Ojo and No one has offended me.
”I am just this person that my way might not be satisfactory to you which is understandable. When someone does bad thing to me, l might want to react in a way that he or she might not like. My way of reacting might not be pleasant to you because we are all humans. But trust me, each time people wrong me l don’t take it to heart.
”Every single goddaughters of mine, friends, sisters anyone you come Across ask them my prayers has always been that they become rich and more successful than I. I don’t have any evil intentions against anyone around me, the moment l express my feelings that’s the end.
”Thou, l might give you space for a while, but trust me we will definitely come around some days. Except if l realised the person wants to hurt or kpai me then l wouldn’t allow such person back into my camp.
”When my mother gave birth to me, she named me Alice Iyabo, she never added Aunty to my names, thats the more reason l don’t even appreciate people adding Aunty to my name or kneeling down for me.
”I hate it when people start kneeling down for me, l wasn’t raised by a Yoruba woman, so l don’t even know or like all these respect things.”
She explained that she understands not everyone will agree with the way she reacts when someone hurts her because everyone is different.
