Olumide Oworu has opened up on the reasons behind his interest in politics in Nigeria.
The 31-year-old, while speaking with Naija FM, explained that he aspires to be a policy maker, to make a change in policy making in the country
Olumide stressed that the poor policymaking of the present crops of politicians were affecting him and millions of Nigerians, noting the need for an intervention.
“I decided to join politics because of how the country is going. I know how Nigeria was when I was younger, but now, things keep getting worse. And I want to start a family and raise my kids here. So, I have to make sure that I try my best to be among the policymakers because whatever policy that is being enacted, it would ultimately, affect me like every other common person. And also, most of the present crops of politicians are aging out and whatever policy they are making today, it is me and my friends who will be at the receiving end tomorrow,” he explained.
Although the actor contested for the position of House of Assembly member during the 2023 elections, he lost to Desmond Elliott.
