US-based Australian rapper, Iggy Azalea has named Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Victony as her current favourite artist.
In a livestream chat with popular streamer N3on, the “Fancy” hitmaker shared that she discovered Victony on Apple Music through a featured track and was instantly drawn to his sound.
“I like Victony. He’s an Afrobeats artist. He’s on fire,” she said. “I found him on Apple Music while listening to a collaboration he did with another artist, and I fell in love with his sound.”
She added, “Now, he is one of my soundtracks in the shower.”
The rapper’s revelation adds to a growing list of international stars showing love for Nigerian artists.
American pop star Billie Eilish once named Tekno as her favourite, while Colombian singer Shakira recently listed Burna Boy among the artists she enjoys listening to.
