Nollywood actor and a reality TV star Saga Adeolu has shared a very honest and unfiltered view about something many viewers often assume actors enjoy on set romantic kissing scenes.
In a recent reflection, he explained that those moments are not as glamorous or enjoyable as they may look on screen. According to him, acting out intimacy with co-stars can feel awkward and uncomfortable, especially when there is no real emotional connection behind it.
He didn’t hold back when describing how it feels from his own experience. He said:
“It is not easy to kiss another actor. It is weird. I have not really had any good onscreen kiss. It is weird having people invade your mouth with saliva.
“It is not something we enjoy. People think we enjoy it, but we don’t. We are just doing it for the story most times. If I had my way, I won’t kiss anyone in a film… There was a day I kissed four different girls on set”.
From his comments, it’s clear that what audiences see as romantic or passionate moments are often just technical parts of storytelling for actors. He pointed out that performers are simply doing their job, regardless of personal comfort.
Saga also hinted that such scenes can sometimes be even more challenging when they involve multiple takes or different actors in a single shoot. In his case, he recalled a particularly intense day where he had to kiss several actresses while filming.
His honesty gives a glimpse into the less talked about side of acting where professionalism sometimes means pushing through discomfort for the sake of a story.
While movie scenes may appear smooth and natural on screen, his experience reminds fans that a lot of effort, repetition, and emotional detachment often go into creating those moments.
