Nigerian singer Joeboy has praised South African star Tyla for her win at the 2026 Grammys, where she took home Best African Music Performance for her hit Push 2 Start.
In a recent interview with Jay On-Air, Joeboy addressed the debate after Tyla beat out big names like Davido, Omah Lay, Wizkid, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy.
“While I personally hoped Davido would win the Best African Music Performance award at this year’s Grammys, you can’t take away what Tyla has achieved. She’s an exceptional artist and put in a lot of effort,” he said.
He added, “People may have their opinions, but Tyla truly deserved the Grammy. I have no issue with her win.”
Joeboy also expressed interest in working with Tyla in the future, praising her talent and professionalism.
