I said what i said – YCee defends “Olodo Uprising” remark

Rapper YCee has defended his controversial “Olodo uprising” comments, insisting he will neither apologise nor withdraw his remarks despite the backlash they have generated

Speaking during an interview, the rapper dismissed criticism over mentioning popular streamer Peller while discussing what he described as the growing acceptance of anti-intellectual content in Nigeria.

YCee stated that he aims that intellectual streamers would gain support in the same vein as the less intellectual ones.

“Some people are saying I shouldn’t have called Peller’s name, but I said what I said. If you feel offended, you should check yourself. A lot of people are also taking what I said out of context. The olodo uprising is even worse than I thought because there are so many people coming out to defend it.” he said.

“My call is to people that are tired of brain-rot contents. There is no reason why intelligent people cannot be streamers or content creators,” he added.
