Veteran Nollywood actor Nkem Owoh has revealed that his rise to stardom was never part of his original plan.
The actor said he began his career behind the scenes as a scriptwriter before people encouraged him to step in front of the camera.
“My coming in front of the camera was an accident. I was a scriptwriter behind the scenes and people started telling me to start performing in front of the camera,” he said.
Reflecting on life as a celebrity, Owoh noted that fame comes with challenges many people often overlook.
Fame took away my freedom,” he stated, adding that while many people desire celebrity status, they rarely consider its drawbacks.
“A lot of people want to be celebrities. They only know the benefits but not the downsides,” the veteran actor said.
