“I do not love, I like” —Actress Laide Bakare speaks on relationships and why she doesn’t allow men visit her home

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has shared her candid take on dating and boundaries during a conversation with fellow actress Ayo Adesanya.

Speaking during the interview with fellow actress Ayo Adesanya, Laide Bakare made it clear that she doesn’t believe in allowing a man she’s dating to freely visit her home unless marriage is involved.

“How will that work? You people are dating and the man will be coming to your house without marriage? It has never happened,” she said.

She explained that while she can like, appreciate, and respect a partner, she doesn’t subscribe to being “in love.”

“I do not love, I like. I appreciate. I respect,” she said.

The actress also stressed that she prefers a man to take responsibility in the relationship by hosting and providing his own space.

“In his house, he’s the man. You should be responsible. You should carry me to your house,” she added.

According to her, even if the man’s place is rented or smaller, she would still prefer that over him visiting her without commitment.
