Mo Salah agrees two-year deal with Turkish club Trabzonspor

Former Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah has reportedly reached an agreement to join Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor on a two-year contract.

According to FootballTransfers, Turkish transfer journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claimed the Egyptian star has agreed personal terms with the club, although the deal is yet to be finalised.

The report added that one contractual clause still requires approval before the transfer can be officially completed.

Salah has been a free agent since leaving Liverpool earlier this summer, ending a remarkable nine-year spell at Anfield in which he established himself as one of the Premier League’s greatest players.

The 34-year-old had previously been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, while MLS clubs San Diego and Sporting Kansas City were also reported to be interested. However, recent reports suggest the Egyptian prefers to remain in European football.

Trabzonspor, who finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season, have been active in the transfer market and are preparing for their UEFA Europa League playoff later this month.

Despite the latest reports, uncertainty still surrounds the move. Just days earlier, Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan dismissed reports claiming the club had already reached an agreement with Salah.

As speculation over his next destination continues, Mohamed Salah was seen unwinding at a beach club in Psarrou, Mykonos, in footage published by Mykonos Live TV.

The Egyptian star has been without a club since his Liverpool deal expired earlier this summer, with reports claiming three clubs from two countries are still awaiting his decision.
