Music star Tiwa Savage has shut down claims that she leaked her own s3x tape as a publicity stunt
The clip, which surfaced online in 2021 after she refused to give in to a blackmailer’s demands, sparked intense backlash on social media, with many blaming her for the scandal instead of the perpetrators.
In a latest conversation with U.S. radio station Hot 97, the singer opened up about the emotional toll it took on her and how she was treated unfairly.
Tiwa said:
“I was bashed for my sex video. Lot of people think I was just trying to get sympathy. Even people with platforms were quite horrible and blamed me.
“I don’t know how they couldn’t see me as the victim in this. They said I did it to be relevant. If I were doing that, I would’ve been intentional about it. I would have used better lighting, lingerie, and my facial expressions would have been on point.”
Tiwa Savage stressed that she never sought clout from the incident and wished people understood the pain she went through.
