Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has come out to address the future of star striker Victor Osimhen as reports continue to swirl that he might be bought permanently by another club or return to parent club, Napoli.
The 25-year-old Nigerian has made a big impression at the Turkish Super Lig champions following his arrival on loan from Napoli in the summer but the club’s president said he will make a decision on Victor Osimhen’s future at the end of the season.
The forward has registered four goals and three assists in seven appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
There are talks about the Yellow and Reds signing the Nigeria international on a permanent transfer at the end of the season, Özbek however said such talks will however to wait until next summer.
“Galatasaray football team is having a successful season. Victor Osimhen is our player this season and his performance is also good,” Özbek was quoted by haberaktuel.com.
“We have time ahead of us for the future structuring of Galatasaray, we will take it into consideration then. As the board of directors, we want to please the Galatasaray community and no one should forget that we are focused on success.
“Galatasaray is on the path to success. Galatasaray will take its own position into consideration. It would be useless to talk about these issues today. Osimhen is a very important player, we are very happy to have him watched by Turkey.”
