Don’t share my DM after my de.ath – Etinosa warns

Etinosa Idemudia has spoken strongly against the growing trend of people posting private messages and conversations only after someone has de.ad

During a podcast appearance, the Nollywood actress frowned at the habit of posting unread or unreplied direct messages, especially by colleagues who allegedly ignored opportunities to connect or work with the person while they were alive, only to later flood social media with emotional tributes after their passing.

She made her frustration very clear, warning against such actions in her own case:

“All those people that post people’s DM when they are de.ad, if you post my DM, I’ll wake up, slap you and go back to the grave. Don’t try it,” she said

Etinosa further called out filmmakers and industry colleagues who, according to her, often fail to respond to collaboration requests while individuals are alive, but later switch to public mourning and regret posts after their death.

She didn’t hold back as she doubled down on her warning:

“DM that you didn’t reply, my enemy will die now. If you try it and post that ‘Oh, we should have worked together, I was looking forward to working with you,’ what I will do to you in your dream, you wouldn’t believe it,” she added.

The remarks also resurfaced discussions around the late Alexx Ekubo, whose reported passing previously triggered emotional reactions, with  celebrities sharing past conversations and missed opportunities after his de.ath
