Ayra Starr reveals why she avoided relationships in high school

Grammy-nominated singer Ayra Starr has revealed that her choice to stay away from relationships during her school days was intentional and tied to how she wanted to protect her personal image

The 23-year-old Mavin Records star explained that she made a conscious decision not to date while growing up, saying she didn’t want her past relationships to become a topic once she became successful.

In a conversation with Quenlin Blackwell, she said she was very cautious about people’s intentions back then and often questioned why many were trying to get close to her.

She explained that her mindset at the time made her skeptical, believing that some admirers may have had hidden motives.

“I didn’t date in high school because I didn’t want to be anybody’s ex. I knew a lot of guys were trying, and I was like, why are you trying That means you must have an ulterior motive,” she said.
