Asake has set a new milestone on Spotify Nigeria with his latest project “M$NEY”, which is now being reported as the biggest opening-week album debut in the platform’s history in Nigeria
The album has already pulled in 37.5 million streams within just 6 days of tracking, placing it ahead of Wizkid’s “Morayo”, which previously held the record with 35.8 million first-week streams.
This means “M$NEY” has not only surpassed the former benchmark but also achieved the feat with one day still missing from a full tracking week, making the achievement even more notable among streaming records in the country.
Wizkid’s “Morayo” had been widely celebrated for its strong debut performance, recording one of the biggest opening-week numbers in Nigeria’s Spotify history.
With Asake now overtaking that figure in less time, “M$NEY” is being recognized as a new standard for first-week streaming performance on Spotify Nigeria, further highlighting the intense competition among Afrobeats heavyweights in the streaming era.
