Asake has now set the bar high when it comes to streams for an album as he breaks Wizkid’s record following the release of M$NEY.
Nigerian music star Asake has continued his impressive chart dominance as his newly released album, M$NEY, set a new record for the biggest opening week streams for any project in Nigerian Spotify history, breaking and surpassing the record previously held by Wizkid.
According to the latest streaming figures, M$NEY amassed a massive 42.2 million streams in its opening week on Spotify Nigeria, surpassing the previous record of 35.8 million streams held by Wizkid’s album Morayo.
The achievement further cements Asake’s status as one of Africa’s most commercially successful artists, with the album already dominating streaming charts and conversations across social media since its release.
The record-breaking milestone adds to what has already been a historic run for the singer in 2026, as M$NEY continues to gain momentum globally.
With this latest accomplishment, Asake now holds one of the most significant streaming records in Nigerian music history, highlighting the growing global influence and streaming power of Afrobeats.
