Asake and Wizkid’s MMS surpasses 100m Spotify streams

Asake and Wizkid’s MMS surpasses 100m Spotify streams

Asake and Wizkid have recorded another major streaming achievement after their hit collaboration, “MMS,” surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.

The milestone marks Asake’s eighth song and Wizkid’s 17th to cross the 100 million stream threshold on the music streaming platform, further cementing their status among Africa’s most successful artistes.

Released as part of Asake’s Lungu Boy album in August 2024, “MMS” quickly became a fan favourite, thanks to its fusion of Asake’s signature Yoruba-inspired sound and Wizkid’s laid-back vocals.

The song also gained international recognition after receiving a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.

“MMS” remains the most-streamed track from Lungu Boy, and its latest achievement comes months after Asake and Wizkid teamed up again on their joint project, Real Vol. 1 EP, released in January 2026.s
