Nigerian actor, producer and director, Kunle Afolayan has thanked Netflix after his movie, ANIKULAPO won five awards at the just concluded 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards over the weekend in Lagos.
The movie, Anikulapo, won Best Actress in a Drama won by Bimbo Ademoye; Best Soundtrack (Movie/TV Series) for Kent Edunjobi; Best Indigenous Language, Yoruba (Movie/TV Series); Best Sound Editor (Movie/TV Series) for Anu Afolayan; Best Writer (Movie/TV Series) for Sola Dada.
Posting on his verified Instagram page today, Afolayan thanked God, Naija Netflix, Africa Magic, his team and fans.
He wrote; “All thanks to Olodumare! 5 Awards! Congratulations to the winning team. Thanks to @naijaonnetflix for the partnership to make the film and thanks to @africamagic for the recognition.
“Thanks to the #kunlesfolayanfans and soldiers out there. Thanks to Maami and all my well-wishers for the prayers and thanks to families and friends for the support.”
He also announced a new work; “On to the next one “ANIKULAPO: Rise of the Spectre” Ire @kapmotionpictures @kap_hub @kapfilmandtelevisionacademy @kaptelevision @kapmusic.ng @kapfilmvillageandresort @goldeneffectspictures.
