Music executive and artist Akon has shared memories of first meeting Nigerian star Wizkid, going back to when the singer was still a teenager.
He said Wizkid was already active in music at a very young age and stood out for his writing ability even before fame.
Akon recalled that Wizkid was not just recording, but also helping other artists with songwriting, including Banky W.
“When I first met Wizkid, he was like 14, maybe 15. He was a kid. That’s why they called him Wizkid. He was literally a wizard at that age. He was writing for other artists, including Banky W.”
Those early experiences, according to Akon, showed a level of talent and confidence that already set Wizkid apart long before he became a global name.
