The Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a draw by South Africa in their World Cup qualifier at the Free State Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein
South Africa went ahead in the 25th minute after defender William Troost-Ekong put the ball into his own net.
Nigeria hit back just before halftime, with Calvin Bassey heading in the equaliser from a set-piece in the 44th minute.
Both teams created chances in the second half, but neither could find a winner.
The draw leaves Nigeria under mounting pressure in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with only two games left to secure direct qualification. South Africa remain top of the group and are edging closer to their first World Cup appearance since hosting the tournament in 2010.
