In keeping up with their long standing tradition of being the pace setters in bringing top quality specs for low costing smartphones in comparison with other major phone manufacturers, tecno has churned out another super flagship phone. An upgrade on the erstwhile impressive Camon 11/11 Pro.
While gong for the Camon 12 would not be a bad choice for anyone with an eye for top quality and trending specs, I personally feel it would be better to go for the rather highly impressive Pro version. I’d highlight some of the major attractions for me.
Tecno Camon 12 Pro Key Specs and Features
- 6.4 inch Infinity-U AMOLED Display, 720 x 1548 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~266 ppi)
- Android 9.0 (Pie); HIOS 5.5, 6GB RAM
- Octa-Core Processor
- 64GB Built-in Storage with memory card support
- Fingerprint Sensor (under display, optical)
- 16MP + 8MP + 2MP Triple Rear Camera with Quad LED Flash
- 32MP Front Camera with Dual LED Flash
- 3500 mAh Non-removable Li-Po Battery
- Color – Dawn Blue
Featuring Android 9.0 (Pie) based on HIOS 5.5 with a 6GB RAM and 64GB memory space as well as additional SD Card slot the phone should be a favorite for heavy users. In the camera department the phone is no slouch as well spotting a rear triple camera with Quad LED flashlight and 32MP front camera with a dual LED flash. First impressions tell of a smooth running phone with no visible lags. Comparing its performance to the Infinix S4, or to the Samsung Galaxy A20, I feel like it has the upper hand. I love the fact that the fingerprint sensor of this one was moved under the display, which makes for a more premium feel than the basic Camon 12 plus an upgrade on the previous IPS screen. A switch to AMOLED means great contrast. As a matter of fact, the Tecno Camon 12 Pro boasts 100000:1 contrast ratio. Enough of the tecnical jargons. For a regular smartphone user you can do no wrong getting this piece as it is worth every penny.
Somethings haven’t changed yet with the Camon 12 Pro. There are still numerous number of apps that come pre-installed with this phone that are annoying, and weird. There are still ads on the HiOS launcher, and others that send notifications. It is a very bad experience especially if you’re used to phones that have cleaner UIs like Samsung and Huawei.
So all in all this is a great buy at N62, 000 and a phone to love.
