Why I stopped going to church – Singer Chike

Singer Chike has opened up about a past experience that made him uncomfortable and made him leave the church.

He revealed that a surprise encounter with an ex-girlfriend who was leading praise and worship made him leave the church after just a week.

Chike clarified that his decision wasn’t due to a loss of faith, saying “Not because I don’t believe in God, because I do.”

He recalled a moment early in his career when he prayed for help, and despite the experience, he still believes in God.

However, he noted that the formal structure of church doesn’t fit his life, saying “Church is not for me.”

Chike emphasized that treating others well is what truly matters.

He said: , “The chick that was leading the praise and worship, we had history. And I couldn’t… I’m like… I was having flashbacks. And she was kabashing, and I’m like… who’s that.”

“So I don’t… Church is not for me. There are things that I like, that I would not be able to do,”

“You just need to do right. By the people. By the people. By the people. Not necessarily leave a certain… Look, since I’m Christian, not certainly live a Christian life …”
