During a podcast appearance, Nigerian media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo opened up about a major decision he made at 24 and why he chose to buy a house in Lekki, Lagos, instead of spending lavishly.
Jideonwo explained that after earning a considerable sum, he deliberately avoided purchasing luxury cars. Instead, he continued driving the same vehicle for a decade until it became unusable, before finally replacing it in 2024.
“I had the same car for ten years until the car was crying,” he said. “You have to store wealth so that in times of trouble, you don’t land on the floor.”
He also advised young people to resist making financial choices just to impress their online followers, warning about the 5th long-term risks.
“Don’t make a decision based on your followers that will not be relevant in your life in five years. Bear it for five years; they will not laugh at you in five years,” he emphasized.
