Tobi Amusan named Nigeria’s flagbearer for 2024 Olympic games

Tobi Amusan, world record holder and renowned athlete, has been chosen as Nigeria’s flagbearer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony

This historic selection marks the first time in two decades that a track and field athlete has been bestowed with this honor, following Mary Onyali’s recognition at the Athens 2004 Games.

Amusan, celebrated for her exceptional performances in the 100m hurdles, will lead the Nigerian contingent during the parade of nations.

This appointment underscores her achievements and solidifies her position as one of Nigeria’s most prominent athletes globally.

Additionally, the Nigerian Olympic Committee has appointed Badminton player Anuoluwapo Opeyori as the General Team captain for Nigeria in Paris, further preparing the country for its participation in the Olympics.
