Tiwa Savage launches music foundation

Tiwa Savage has unveiled the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a new initiative designed to empower emerging musicians across Africa

Announcing the foundation on Instagram on Wednesday, Tiwa said it would provide young creatives with “access, mentorship, and world-class music education.” She described the project as her way of “building at home after years of building globally” and promised a major update later in the day.

“After years of building globally… It’s time to build at home. Introducing the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation,” she wrote. “A new initiative dedicated to empowering emerging African creatives through access, mentorship, and world-class music education. Stay tuned. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT today at 4PM WAT.”

According to the foundation’s website, the program prioritizes supporting artists from underrepresented and underserved communities. It seeks to equip them with the skills, industry knowledge, and confidence to tell their stories and make a meaningful impact on culture.

“The Foundation is dedicated to empowering emerging talent through music, education, and creative opportunity by providing access to world-class music training, mentorship, and resources across the African continent,” the website states. “We believe music is more than sound; it’s identity, voice, and possibility. When young people are given the tools to develop their craft and understand the industry, they gain confidence, direction, and the ability to shape culture on a bigger stage.”

Tiwa Savage has also partnered with the US-based Berklee College of Music to deliver a four-day intensive programme for emerging musicians. The initiative will offer practical experience in performance, songwriting, production, and music business, while connecting participants with industry experts.
