There’s no Afrobeats without me – Davido

Davido has confidently said there’s no Afrobeats without him, and we think we agree; he is a huge part of it.

In an Instagram post, the award-winning artist boldly declared that any discussion about Afrobeats is incomplete without mentioning his name.

As part of the promotional campaign for his highly anticipated fifth studio album, ‘5IVE’, scheduled for release in March 2025, Davido emphasized his trailblazing role in lifting Afrobeats to a global phenomenon.

His international acclaim has undoubtedly contributed to the genre’s widespread recognition.

With the announcement, Davido shared the visuals for his latest single, ‘Funds’, which has already generated significant buzz online.

In his Instagram post, Davido wrote:

“Afrobeats can’t be brought up without my name. Impossible. The genre-defying pioneer has brought his sound to the attention of millions, and with his new album ‘5ive’ coming March 2025, he truly has the world at his feet.
