
Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has made a switch to Ligue 1 outfit FC Nantes.
FC Nantes officially announced the signing of Awaziem on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The player joins from the Colorado Rapids.
”FC Nantes and the Colorado Rapids have reached an agreement for the transfer of Chidozie Awaziem. The Nigerian has signed a 3-year contract with the Yellow and Greens,” FC Nantes said in a statement.
The 28-year-old defender began his career with Portugal’s FC Porto, where he did several loan stints, including one with Nantes in 2017-18. He also featured in Portugal for Boavista.
Awaziem has now joined Nantes on a permanent basis, putting pen to paper over a three-year deal until June 2028.
