During a church service, Pastor David Ibiyeomie delivered a firm message to his congregation on discipline and conduct in church, warning against habits like chewing gum and other improper behaviour during worship
He told members that certain habits were unacceptable inside the sanctuary, stressing that the church environment should be treated with reverence and focus.
“Don’t chew gum when you’re in church, you’re not a goat. Don’t drink water in church. If you want to drink water, go outside. Don’t use phone at all in church. This is not a Pentecostal church, only Pentecostal churches allow water inside church,” he said.
The statement, delivered in his usual direct tone, was aimed at ensuring members remain attentive during services and avoid anything he considers disruptive to worship.
