Singing in Yoruba almost ended my dream – Asake

Singing in Yoruba almost ended my dream – Asake

Asake has opened up about the challenges he faced at the early stage of his music career, revealing that he was once denied performance opportunities because he sang in Yoruba

The Sungba crooner disclosed this in an interview with Famous TV, where he reflected on his journey to success.

According to the artiste, several show promoters turned him down at the time, insisting on a different style, but he chose to remain consistent with his sound and language.

He said he is grateful he did not abandon his musical identity despite the setbacks.

“At some point, a lot of people said no to me. They didn’t allow me to perform at shows because I spoke Yoruba. But thank God I didn’t stop, and I kept believing in myself,” he said.

Asake attributed his rise in the industry to perseverance, self-belief and consistency, adding that his progress was also by God’s grace.

“How I got to where I am today is by God’s grace, self-belief, consistency and endurance. Now, look at where I am today. I am so happy for myself,” the singer added.
