Portable has welcomed a new child while still in detention, following his recent remand over criminal charges
Just five days after Portable was ordered to be remanded in custody, his first wife, Omobewaji, reportedly delivered a baby.
The singer was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Ogun State on a nine-count criminal charge. However, the presiding judge declined to grant him bail at the time, citing the absence of the police officer allegedly assaulted by the musician, who was expected to appear in court.
Following the development, the court ordered that Portable be remanded in prison custody, while adjourning the matter to January 19, 2026, for the consideration of his bail application.
Meanwhile, sources disclosed that news of the birth of his child has since been conveyed to the singer in prison. According to reports, Portable received the news with excitement and expressed eagerness to regain his freedom in order to see his newborn for the first time.
Portable’s legal troubles reportedly stem from an earlier incident involving one of his wives, Ashabi Simple, during which he allegedly assaulted a police officer.
