Singer , Mayorkun speaks on current relationship with Davido

Singer Mayorkun has spoken on his current relationship with his former boss, Davido.

The singer spoke about their relationship in the latest episode of the Tea With Tay podcast hosted by actor, Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, aka Taymesan,

Recall Mayorkun left Davido’s record label, DMW in 2021 after the singer signed him in 2016.

He says because he doesn’t post the singer, does not mean there’s a riff between them, and as a matter of fact, the singer is his best friend.

He was also quick to remind fans, that starts baseless rumours, saying ”they always forget it’s not their relationship’.

He said, “Contrary to what other people think, I have one of the best relationships with Davido. I feel like he knows me and he understands the kind of person I am. If I dey vex for am now, he knows… Like do you understand? I’m not that difficult of a human being.

“It’s just that I’m not posting Davido everyday, saying his my best friend that’s why some people think we are not cool. The relationship is not for you [fans]. You always forget that.”

Recall that Mayorkun came into the spotlight in 2016 after he released a cover of Davido’s ‘The Money’ single which featured Olamide and was discovered by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).

Davido signed him to his record label, DMW, where he released his debut single, ‘Eleko’ and became an instant star.
