During a recent chat with Beat 99.9FM, singer Fola opened up about his journey to Lagos and shared a shocking first-day experience.
When asked what brought him to the city back in 2018, Fola explained:
“I wanted to see it.”
But according to him, life in Lagos wasn’t smooth at the start.
“It’s been rough, bro. You know it was so hard at first initially, but Lagos embraced me,” he said, noting that both living conditions and his career were challenging in those early days.
Then came the most unexpected revelation.
“Bro, this is funny, so funny. The first day, the very first day I got to Lagos, I was arrested, bro. Yeah. I slept at a police station.”
Although he didn’t go into full detail about what led to the arrest, the singer admitted the incident almost made him pack his bags and return home.
