Shakira, Burna Boy perform at 2026 World Cup opening ceremony

Global  music icons Shakira and Burna Boy lit up the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with an electrifying performance of “Dai Dai,” captivating fans with a colourful blend of music, dance and energy.

Shakira took the stage after J Balvin’s performance and instantly ignited the atmosphere as she opened the tournament’s official anthem. The Colombian singer thrilled spectators with her trademark dance moves before Burna Boy made a dramatic entrance to thunderous cheers from the crowd.

The duo shared the stage in a lively performance, dancing together as fans erupted in excitement.

“Dai Dai” is the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and also promotes the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a programme focused on improving access to education worldwide.

Supported by a group of dancers, Shakira delivered a polished choreography display, while Burna Boy brought his signature stage presence, performing alongside his dance crew.

The show ended on a high note as both stars reunited at centre stage, leading the audience in the song’s closing chant: “Dale, allez, let’s go!”
